The project is expected to be completed in 42 months and will be India's first semi high-speed railway corridor built using indigenously developed technology.

The Ahmedabad–Dholera Semi High-Speed Rail Line will enhance connectivity between Ahmedabad, Dholera SIR, Dholera International Airport, and the Lothal National Maritime Heritage Complex. The corridor is expected to reduce travel time, improve logistics, support industrial development, and strengthen Gujarat's transport infrastructure under the PM Gati Shakti initiative.
