The 60-km expansion by Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) includes 41 elevated stations and new corridors across South West Ahmedabad. The proposal now awaits final approval from the Union Cabinet
Dholera Airport Connectivity Gets a Major Push
The proposed Thaltej Gam–Badrabad corridor could become an important gateway toward Dholera SIR and the upcoming Dholera International Airport. The route will pass through key areas including Godhavi, Bopal and Shantipura before reaching Badrabad near the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway. This could strengthen the long-term transport link between Ahmedabad and Dholera
Faster Connectivity and Better Access Across Ahmedabad
The expansion is expected to improve connectivity between Ahmedabad’s growing residential, commercial and institutional areas while reducing pressure on busy central routes. The proposed Vadaj circular loop would allow commuters to travel between several western, eastern and southern areas without passing through the city centre. Better connectivity could also support Dholera’s future industrial and economic growth.
