Dholera Smart City is entering a new phase of development as several major infrastructure and industrial milestones are beginning to take shape. From India’s first commercial semiconductor fabrication facility to the successful trial landing at Dholera International Airport, the project is steadily progressing toward becoming one of the country’s most important manufacturing and investment destinations.
Tata Electronics Semiconductor Fab Gains Momentum
One of the biggest developments in Dholera is the construction of Tata Electronics' ₹91,000 crore semiconductor fabrication plant. The project, developed in partnership with Taiwan's Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC), is expected to manufacture advanced semiconductor chips for industries such as automobiles, telecommunications, consumer electronics, artificial intelligence, and defence.
Dholera International Airport Achieves Major Milestone
Infrastructure development also received a significant boost after a successful trial landing at the under-construction Dholera International Airport. Once operational, the airport is expected to improve passenger connectivity, cargo transportation, industrial logistics, and export capabilities for businesses operating within Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR).
